Baadshaho and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan are performing incredibly at the Indian box office. After both the films showed exceptional growth on Day 2 (1st Saturday), they are all set to impress the trade pundits on their Day 3 (1st Sunday) as well. On one side, Baadshaho took full advantage of the Sunday holiday which resulted in the occupancy staying around 50-60% throughout the day. The film collected 15.10 crores on its 1st Sunday to take its weekend total to 43.30 crores. On the other side, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan collected 6.19 crores to take its 1st weekend total 14.46 crores. Despite the clash, both films are performing equally well at the Indian box office showing that even if two movies are releasing on the same date, they can still gain the hit tag without having any ugly fights between each other. With such amazing total, Baadshaho has evicted Half Girlfriend from the list of Top 10 Highest Opening Weekend Grossers of 2017. The film now acquires the #8 spot on the list as it beat Badrinath Ki Dulhaniyan’s 43.05 crores 1st-weekend collections. Baadshaho also entered the list of Top 10 Highest Opening Day Grossers Of 2017 upon its release.
Both the films will like to hold onto these collections and maintain it over the weekdays. With no major release till September 15, 2017, the films have two open weeks to perform well at the Indian box office. Daddy and Poster Boys are unlikely to affect collections of the Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi starrer movie as well as the Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer movie.
