This Friday was stacked was five Bollywood releases with the two major ones with being Arjun Rampal’s Daddy and Sunny Deol‘s Poster Boys. Both the films opened better than the other releases. However, both the films faced fierce competition from the last week’s releases Baadshaho and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. Due to competition and the buzz factor, Daddy managed to collect 1.25 crores whereas Poster Boys collected 1.75 crores on their Day 1 at the Indian box office.
Arjun Rampal’s Daddy released across 1000 screens in the domestic market. The screen count was low due to the genre of the movie. Despite the smart allotment of screens, it received a poor response during the morning shows and failed to show the needed growth by the end of the day. The occupancy ranged between 20-25% throughout the day. Poster Boys faced a similar fate as it also receives a poor response upon its release despite the heavy star cast.
With both the films bringing only 3 crores on their Day 1, it is crystal clear now that Baadshaho will top the collection chart this weekend at the Indian box office. As it was expected that the new releases possess no threats to the running of the Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi starrer movie. On the other hand, the Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is also taking advantage of the poor run of the new film releases earning good amount of money at the Indian box office. It looks to be seen where Daddy and Poster Boys will end up from now on as the competition is going to get tougher and tougher in the upcoming days.
