Guest iin London Movie Review
Movie Name: Guest in London
Star Cast: Kartik Aaryan, Kriti Kharbanda, Paresh Rawal, Naveen Kaushik, Tanvi Azmi
Director: Ashwni Dhir
Rating: 1.5/5 (one and half) stars
Thumbs Up: Nothing. Sanjay Mishra is watchable though.
Thumbs Down: Everything else.
Watch It or Skip It: Skip It. With a film like ‘Mom’ out in theaters, you have a much better option compared to this movie.
Guest iin London Movie Review: Plot
The story initiates with Aryan and his British girlfriend Anaya aiming to plan a fake marriage for getting a citizenship card in the UK. However, ten days before the wedding, Aryan’s distant uncle’s neighbor’s tenant, the jodi of Gagga chacha and Guddi chachi suddenly appear in Aryan’s office out of nowhere. Aryan has to take them at home with her. Aryan and Anaya decide to keep the old couple at their house to ultimately have them as the witnesses of their wedding. Will Aryan and Anaya be able to control their patience from snapping at the irritating but caring old couple? Find it out.
Guest iin London Movie Review: Plot Analysis
The movie could have been way better. Previously, Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge was way more hilarious compared to this film. Most of the jokes in the movie look so much desperate. Moreover, Paresh Rawal did warn every one of the racist jokes. However, even those jokes are not funny. They are actually silly and leave the viewers with a facepalm expression.
The story is predictable and makes it too easy for the audience to know how it’d end. Guest iin London will most probably end up being a washout with this kind of story.
Guest iin London Movie Review: Star Cast Performance
Sanjay Mishra did total justice to his role. His performance as a Pakistani officer is the only thing which can make the audience laugh while watching the movie.
Paresh Rawal is a great comedian though to cast him in a film like this is not going to make him able to portray his talent.
Kartik Aaryan is mostly average whereas Kriti Kharbanda is an over-reacting machine. Tanvi Azmi performed well, but the plot was not engaging enough to make her performance count. Naveen Kaushik was decent, but he has much more potential.
Guest iin London Movie Review: Final Thoughts
The film tries its best to be funny at times but fails miserably. Guest iin London has competition from a movie like Mom. Thus, it was essential for it to come up with a more engaging plot which has an additional return value. Though, what the makers did was opposite. It was a boring movie which forces us to say that we don’t want these kinds of guests either!
