Tubelight was the second time when Kabir Khan collaborated with Salman Khan after ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan.’ Expectations from the movie were high, but the result has been not so satisfying for fans as well as the people who were associated with the movie. While sharing the similar feeling of sadness, Kabir Khan said:
“I am disappointed. You make a film with a lot of love and conviction, and if it doesn’t do well the way it was expected to do, it’s disheartening.”
Kabir also said that it is unfair how people are comparing ‘Tubelight’ with ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan.’ Moreover, he considers Tubelight a special film by all means. He said:
“We can’t expect every film to do the business like ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan.’ Every film of mine is put against ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan, ‘ and it is unfair. I am extremely proud of ‘Tubelight.’ “It’s too early to analyze what went wrong with the film. Maybe people were not able to identify with the character of Salman. But I was happy with what Salman did and even he was playing this part”.
Following these statements, he also shared his thoughts regarding the news which stated that Salman Khan would refund distributors to compensate the losses brought down by the movie. He added:
“I am not a producer, I am a line producer of the film. I can’t talk about it as it’s about business, I think it is a great thing. It’s a good gesture by Salman. (But) For the film itself, the cost is successful”.
Despite the failure of ‘Tubelight,’ the duo is going to come back with another film soon. Reportedly, Salman Khan will play the role of a 75-year old man in the movie. Other details concerning the movie are still unknown. Stay updated with UMD to get the latest information about Bollywood daily.
