The trailer of Shraddha Kapoor‘s Haseena Parkar received great response from the fans. However, despite having received a good reception from the masses, the makers decided to postpone the film once again.
A source close to the film-making team of Haseena Parkar states:
“The decision to postpone the film was taken last week. Anil Thadani (the film’s distributor), the producers and director Apoorva Lakhia realised that August was cluttered with too many releases. They realised that Haseena will have to compete with two biggies that are releasing in the weeks before — Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal (August 4) and Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha [August 11]. What makes it worse is that besides Haseena Parkar, there are three releases lined up for August 18 — Bareilly Ki Barfi, Newton and Partition 1947.”
The source also adds:
“The makers are confident of their film and don’t want it to get lost in the clutter. That’s why they decided to push the release.”
“We collectively decided to postpone the film so that it can get enough screens and a worthy run at the box-office.”
Haseena Parkar was initially slated to release on July 14 alongside Jagga Jasoos, Mom, and Chef. However, Mom, Haseena Parkar, and Chef preponed/postponed their release in order to let Jagga Jasoos enjoy a solo release. The makers are going to announce the postponement news as well as the new release date soon.
