Sonu Sood is an actor, model and film producer by profession. He was born on 30 July, 1973 in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. His father, Shakti Sood was an entrepreneur and mother Saroj Sood is a teacher. Since childhood, he dreamt for a career in acting. The actor is married to Sonali Sood in the year 1996 and has two sons namely Ayaan Sood and Ishant Sood.
Sood is a fitness freak and works very hard by following a strict diet for being in the shape. He regularly work out in his gym for two hours and also jog for 45 minutes.
He has appeared in many films of Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and few Kannada and Punjabi films as well.
Sonu has started his career with modelling in the year 1999. He made his debut in hindi films with the movie Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh while his first Telugu and Tamil movie was Hands up and Kallazhagar respectively.

In 2004, he portrayed in several films like Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero as Lt Col Shah Nawaz khan, Mission Mumbai, Yuva as Gopal Singh.
In 2005, Sood was seen in the film Sheesha as Raj, Aashiq banaya aapne as Karan, Siskiyaan as Dr Vishwas and film Divorce: Not Between Husband and Wife as Siddharth Joshi.
In 2008, the actor appeared in the film Jodhaa Akbar as Prince Sujamal and for this film he got nominated for Filmfare awards in the category of Best Supporting actor. In the same year he was seen in films Singh Is king and Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi.
In 2009, He portrayed the character of Aryan in the film Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge.
In 2010, He played a negative role in a blockbuster film Dabangg as Chhedi Singh and for the film he recieved Apsara award for best actor in a negative role and IIFA award for his Best performance in a negative role.
In 2011, he was seen in Bbuddah.. Hoga Tera Baap as ACP Karan Malhotra.
In 2012, Maximum was a film in which he acts as an Inspector Pratap Pandit.
In 2013, he was seen in many films like Shootout at wadala as Dilawar Imtiaz Haksar, Ramaiya Vastavaiya as Raghuveer and R.. Rajkumar as shiv raj gurjar.
In 2014, he was seen in two hindi films i.e.. Entertainment as Arjun and Happy New Year as Jagmohan prakash.
In 2015, he portrayed the role of balbir singh in the film Gabbar Is Back.
