The Akshay Kumar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha had a decent start at the Indian box office after collecting around 13.10 crores on its first day. Considering the screen count of the movie, it looks like the mixed word of mouth is not affecting the collection the movie at all. The film additionally collected 17.10 crores on its Day 2 (1st Saturday) to take its two day total to 30.20 crores.
The film started off on a slow note with its occupancy ranging around 20-50% on its first day. However, the occupancy range has now risen to 35-60% which is a great sign for the film. Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal fell below expectations last week when it failed to show growth on its second day and instead witnessed a drop in collections. Though, the good news is that the mixed word of mouth is not degrading its box office collection.
The core fan base of Akshay Kumar has changed since the past two years. Initially, the actor had a massive fan following at smaller centers.
