Thugs Of Hindostan

Khan was born in Mumbai. His father Tahir Hussain was a film producer and mother is Zeenat Hussain. Khan has one brother, actor Faisal Khan, and two sisters, Farhat and Nikhat Khan. He has a nephew Imran Khan, who is a Hindi film star. Khan attended J.B. Petit School for his pre-primary education, transferred to St. Anne’s High School, Bandra till the eighth grade, and completed his ninth and tenth grade at the Bombay Scottish School, Mahim. He played tennis at state-level championships. Khan had a terrible childhood due to financial problems faced by his father. He worked as an assistant director to Nasir Hussain on the Hindi films Manzil Manzil (1984) and Zabardast (1985).

Khan made his debut with a low-budget experimental film Holi whose director was Ketan Mehta. Nasir Hussain and his son Mansoor cast Aamir in Mansoor’s directorial debut Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak which starred Juhi Chawla. The film was based on Romeo and Juliet. It received seven Filmfare Awards including a Best Male Debut award for Khan. Aamir was awarded a National Film Award – Special Jury Award for his acting in both Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Raakh that year. He is considered as a perfectionist and invests his energy in only one or two films in a year. In 2001, he appeared in Lagaan. Khan won his second Filmfare best actor award.
Khan made a comeback in 2005 with Ketan Mehta’s Mangal Pandey: The Rising. The film was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Then, he appeared in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s award-winning Rang De Basanti in 2006. It won him Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. It was India’s first film to get entry to the Oscars. It received a nomination for BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language at the BAFTA Awards in England. His 2007 film, Taare Zameen Par, was produced by him in which he also debuted as a director. Khan received the Filmfare Awards for Best Director and Best Film of 2007.
In 2009, Aamir appeared in 3 Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, as Ranchodas Chanchad. 3 Idiots became biggest grosser Bollywood film of all time in India. Khan made his entry into television world with his talk show, Satyamev Jayate. The show dealt with social issues. It started on 6 May 2012. Aamir was apparently paid Rs. 30 million rupees to host each episode of Satyamev Jayate. He recently gave three all time blockbusters in a row with Dhoom 3, PK and Dangal.
Aamir’s Personal Life
Khan married Reena Dutta, who had a role in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in 1986. Khan and Reena have two children, a son named Junaid and a daughter, Ira. They divorced in 2002. Khan married Kiran Rao, who was an assistant director to Ashutosh Gowariker on the sets of Lagaan.
