Alia Bhatt who previously featured in ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniyan’ took a break after the release of the film. However, she is still open to signing films. Recently, the actress has signed Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Raazi’ which is also going to feature Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. The movie will be based on Harinder Sikka’s novel ‘Calling Sehmat’. The film is going to narrate the story 1971 Indo-Pak war. Junglee Pictures and Dharma Productions will produce the movie.
Alia Bhatt is going to be seen depicting the role of a Kashmiri girl who is married to a Pakistani army officer. The girl provides valuable information to Indian army during the war and acts as a significant driving force in the conclusion of the war. Alia Bhatt confirmed the news on her Twitter account as she tweeted a tweet with a caption and a pic:

Regarding his role in the film, Vicky Kaushal praised Meghna Gulzar a lot. He said:
“I’m honored to be getting an opportunity to work with Meghna Gulzar and also looking forward to working with Alia, who I feel is one of the finest actresses we have at the moment.”
Following his comments, Vicky says that he is looking forward to working with Dharma Productions. He added:
“Actually, the entire team is so talented and especially to be working with Dharma Productions is rewarding for any young actor. I’ll soon wrap up Raju sir’s film and will begin shooting for Raazi.”
The shooting of the film will initiate around July. It is going to be shot in Kashmir, Punjab, and Mumbai. The release date of the movie is still unknown.
