Anurag Kashyap’s Mukkabaaz Promises to Pack a Punch, Releases on January 12, 2018

The maverick film director Anurag Kashyap is back with a sports drama Mukkabaaz but calls it as his first full fledged love story. The trailer is gripping and so is its star cast comprising the very talented “Vineet Kumar Singh” and “Zoya Hussain” in the lead. Other key roles in the movie are played by equally talented and multi-faceted actors such as “Jimmy Shergill” and “Ravi Kishan”. Mukkabaaz release date is Jan 12, 2018, and here’s all that you need to know about it.

What Sets it Apart?

What makes the movie interesting and very different from most others we see on our silver screen is the level of preparation that the lead actor “Vineet Kumar Singh” did for his character. Apparently, Anurag Kashyap told Vineet to learn the sport of boxing first to get into the skin of the character and only then he can think of casting him in the movie.

At the age of 36, Vineet packed his bags from Mumbai and travelled to Punjab to learn professional boxing. Most boxers retire at the age of 35!

To ensure his cinematic journey as a lead actor starts with the best foot forward, Vineet (Gangs of Wasseypur fame) left no stones unturned to learn boxing and put straight 2 years of his life in the training. So, what we are going to see in the movie Mukkabaaz is a ready professional boxer and not someone who is just superficially playing the role of a boxer.

Vinnet Kumar Singh’s life is inspiring to the say the least. He was once a national level basketball player. He came to Mumbai in 1999 to become an actor but continued struggling for 17 years with miniscule roles in different movies. Mukkabaaz is poised to be his first film as a lead. Sounds a lot like the story of once a struggler but now extremely popular, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, isn’t it?

We can’t wait to watch Mukkabaaz, scheduled to release on January 12, 2018; stay tuned for the reviews, and further updates about this upcoming Bollywood movie.
