Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starter movie, Batti Gul Meter Chalu released all over the country today and it has got a good start at the box office. The movie has received an occupancy of twenty-five percent in the first show itself. Considering the genre and discussions around the plot of the movie, the occupancy is quite good. The movie is doing great in the theatres and multiplexes across the cities.
Looking at the decent performance of the movie today, we can say that this movie will make a great business in the upcoming weekends. It is to be looked upon if the occupancy for the evening and night will increase today or not.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu is Shree Narayan Singh directorial movie based on social drama around increased electricity bills and power shortages across the country. Shree Narayan Singh had previously addressed a story about lack of sanitary measures in the country through Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
The story revolves around Shahid Kapor who playing the role of Sushil, a lawyer who makes money by blackmailing businessmen whose advertisements make fake claims about their product’s performance. He drifts is business attention from blackmailing businessmen to fighting for his friend Sundar who goes bankrupt after paying huge astronomical electricity bills.
The emotional turmoil in the movie can be seen in the three-minute trailer. Though the plot of the movie is interesting, it looks like the director forgot about the timing while focusing on the script. The movie stretches up to 175 minutes and, that’s one of the major drawbacks of the movie.
Shraddha plays the role of Laila, who was one a love interest of both Sushil and Sundar. Due to circumstances, Lalitha chooses Sundar. The drama continues throughout the movie until the justice is served.
The entire half narrates Sushil and Shraddha’s friendship. The movie is, however, worth the watch. If you aren’t a fan of lengthy movies, maybe you should choose other movies. After all, 175 minutes is a lot. If you are planning to watch the movie, book your tickets soon. Since it’s weekend, it might be difficult to grab a seat.
