The short story ‘Kabuliwala’ by Rabindranath Tagore has been cinematographed by Deb Medhekar. Dev Medhekar is directing the movie titled as ‘Bioscopewala’. This feature film will be starring stellar actors, including Geetanjali Thapa, Adil Hussain, Danny Denzongpa and Tisca Chopra. The story of Bioscopewala will be picked up from the point Tagore left this story.
In Kabul (Afghanistan), the war-torn area, lives Kabuliwala’s daughter. Kabuliwala actually shows films on his bioscope to children. That’s why the movie’s name has not been taken as Kabuliwala; instead, it is ‘Bioscopewala’. The days pass on and he continually longs for his daughter to look for glimpses of the younger version of Thapa.
In the trailer, viewers see Thapa has grown up and her father suddenly passes away in a plane crash. Meanwhile, all her memories regarding Bioscopewala get revived and she starts looking for him. She starts taking all the things upon herself. And, then she starts finding hidden facts and solves the mystery behind Bioscopewala and his daughter. During the war initialized in Afghanistan, she starts finding the whereabouts of Bioscopewala’s daughter.
The trailer has been wholeheartedly welcomed by the viewers as it successfully evokes the emotions of longing, separation and pains same as that of Kabuliwala. Danny Denzongpa’s presence has added a pleasant delight in the two-minute long trailer and brings life to Kabuliwala, the much-loved character of each viewer. Different stages of his life have been encased in the trailer and he has given his best in all of them. Being associated with Star India, Bioscopewala has been presented under the banner of Fox Star Hindi and will get released on 25 May in theatres. All in all, Danny’s way of presenting Kabuliwala is just outstanding.
