Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika is also following the same dispute path as Padmaavat. According to sources, the movie has some scenes, which show the love affair of Rani Laxmibai with the British officer. The book, which contains the life history of Rani Laxmibai, was banned in Uttar Pradesh for describing the love affair of Rani Laxmibai with the Englishman.
According to sources, the film has some scenes, which were picked from the book written on the life of Rani Laxmibai by Jaishree Misra. Everyone was surprised to know that the filmmakers picked the scenes from the banned book.
Suresh Misra, the founder of SBM revealed that they will disrupt the shooting of Manikarnika. Misra said that the producers of the movie did not respond to the letter, which was issued on Jan 9th. The letter requested the producers to reveal the source of the story and details of all the songs in the movie.
Misra revealed the purpose of writing the letter as – “Jhansi Ki Maharani Laxmi Bai was a Brahmin and therefore our organization and community has certain queries as it is related to Brahmin sentiments & emotions.”
The Brahmin organization has decided to protest against Manikarnika unless it receives no-objection letter. If the filmmakers did not prove that the film does not have any objection, the organization of Brahmins in Rajasthan will appeal to the government to ban the screening of the film. Rajput Karni Sena has also given his consent to support Misra in banning the screening of Manikarnika.
The filmmakers did not react to any of the rumors. According to source, the film does not have any objectable issue. They have made it clear that the film is not consulting Jaishree’s book for the stories. The movie will be released under the banner of Zee Studios.
With all the disputes, will ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ starring Kangana Ranaut, Jisshu Sengupta in leading roles be released in June 2018?
