Calling Karan Season 2 Launch: Karan Johar Opens Up About Love, Heartbreak, and Bollywood


Bollywood’s dearest director and producer Karan Johar is all set for the second season of his radio show. Karan Johar attended the Launch event of Ishq 104.8 FM on Monday and spoke about a lot of things during the launch event. The second season of ‘Calling Karan’ will go on air soon on Ishq 104.8 FM.

While interacting with the audience, the Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham fame director talked about love, relationships, and heartbreak. Along with Karan Johar, Bollywood director Imtiaz Ali, actress Neha Dhupia, and Roadies fame Ranvijay Singh were also present at the launch event.

During the discussion, Karan Johar got candid and revealed about how heartbreak helps an actor to be better. Talking about real-life heartbreaks, Karan Johar said that he thinks that actors who have had a heartache can perform better than the actors who have never had one. Karan Johar also stated that every good actor in the industry would have had a heartache before being called as a good actor. Karan Johar told everyone that it is not easy to portray such emotions if the actor has not had a heartbreak.

Adding to Karan Johar’s Heartbreak comment, Imtiaz Ali said that he knows a few actors who are going through such heartbreak to become actors. Adding to Imtiaz’s comment, Karan revealed that actors purposefully traumatize themselves to perform better in the movies.

When asked if he would refer his films while solving problems on the show, Karan Johar straight-forwardly told everyone that movies are ridiculous to set them as a reference, and he does not want to ruin anyone’s life with such examples. He also said that movies are limited to entertainment. Whereas real life problems need a personalized experience.

 The first season of the show addressed topics related to love, LGBT, and open marriages. The second season of the show which will be telecasted soon will also address the same problems in a broader aspect.

Talking about his previous Bollywood movies, Karan Johar said that he sometimes cringes about the way he presented certain plots of his movies and he feels terrible about it. Karan Johar also told that he is yet to make the movie that he will love entirely.
