The Malayalam superstar Mammootty is back to make heads turn with his outstanding performance. Having worked in over 350 films, he has been ruling the box office since decades and this superstar does not need any introduction.
Now it looks like the biopic aura has surrounded the film industry and the movie Yatra is an addition to this genre. The movie is based on the life of the former Chief Minister Yeduguri Sandinti Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) who passed away in a helicopter crash in 2009. He was a 2- time Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and was loved by everyone. He had launched several schemes for the benefit of the poor. It took no time for the movie makers to select the right person for the role.
After a long break of 25 years from the film industry, Mammootty had a great and royal welcome by the cast and crew of Yatra. People danced to the tune of his hit songs paying tribute to their all-time favourite superstar. The moment just looked like how soldiers hail an emperor.
The multistarrer movie is expected to release on January 15. With the first teaser released, the movie has already gained popularity. People appreciated the detailed work of the makers in the recently launched poster where Mammootty is seen waving his hand and quoted as saying – “He wanted to leave a footprint in history instead, He left one in the hearts of people” and this overwhelmed the fans of YSR.
Yatra will be released in Tamil as well as Telugu. Director Mahi V Raghav said – “There should be no language barrier as the movie is Universal.”
The role of YS Jagan will be played by the Tamil star Suriya. It’s going to be a visual treat for all the fans watching the 2 stars performing alongside each other. Bhumika Chawla will be playing the role of Sharmila, daughter of YSR.
After receiving positive response for the innovative design in the recently released poster, the director is all set to give credits to his VFX team. It looks like the superstar Mammootty as YSR has turned out to be a great choice of the makers and has paid up for the efforts of Yatra team.
