Kapil Sharma is an actor, comedian, singer, producer by profession. He was born on 2nd April, 1981 in Amritsar, Punjab, India. He is currently residing in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. His father Jeethendra Kumar was a head constable in Punjab Police and his mother is a homemaker. Kapil has two siblings namely Ashok Kumar Sharma and sister, Pooja Sharma. He did his schooling from Hindu college in Amritsar, Punjab.

The popular comedian started his career with a reality show of comedy The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in the year 2007 and he won the show by receiving 10 lakh as prize money. He then take part in Sony TV show Comedy Circus and win the six seasons.
He also hosted the dance reality show of Colors TV Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 6 and a comedy show Chhote Miyan.
In the year 2013, kapil launch his own show on Colors, Comedy Nights with Kapil.
Currently, he is hosting his new show known as The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony TV and get great response by the side of audience.

In 2011, Sharma portrayed the role of Thakur’s son in Bhavnao Ko Samjho.
In 2015, he debuted in Bollywood with the film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. In the film, he was seen in a lead role as Kumar/ Shiv/ Ram/ Kishan.
In the same year, he has done a Cameo in the film ABCD 2 and portrayed as himself in Comedy Nights With Kapil.

In 2012, he won Indian Television Academy Awards in the category of Best Actor- Comedy for the Sony TV comedy show Kahani Comedy Circus Ki and Colors TV Comedy Nights with Kapil.
In 2013, He again got Indian Television Academy Awards in the Funniest Serial- Comedy for the show Comedy Nights with Kapil.
CNN-IBN Indian of the Year in the category of Entertainer of the year.
BIG Star Entertainment Awards in the Most Entertaining Comedy Show for Comedy nights with kapil.
In 2014, he won Star Guild Award for the Best comedy show for Comedy nights with Kapil.
In 2015, Sharma received Sony Guild Film Awards in the category of Promising Debut Male for his debut film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon.
