Priyanka Chopra is finally back to India and is preparing herself to star in Shonali Bose’s ‘The Sky Is Pink’. The Bollywood actress was last seen on screen in Prakash Jha’s ‘Jai Ganagajal’ in the year 2016 where she played the role of SP Abha Mathur, a brave police inspector who fights corruption and brings jungle raaj to an end. However, the actress took a long break from Indian cinema due to her work commitments in the overseas wherein she was roped in for a prominent role in the American drama series Quantico for three continuous seasons.
Priyanka’s role in the film was confirmed to the fans when she shared a picture of the front page of the script as her Instagram story. Farhan Akhtar has been finalised to be paired opposite to the ‘desi girl’ Priyanka Chopra in the upcoming movie which is loosely based on the life of motivational speaker Aisha Choudhary. Although the name is yet to be confirmed, it is sure that the film revolves around Aisha’s book, ‘My Little Epiphanies’ that will portray her journey from the anguish of pulmonary fibrosis at the young age of 13 to reforming into a motivational speaker in spite of the atrocities. She is greatly appreciated for her positive attitude towards life and the urge to learn at a young age even though she was born with SCID and had her first bone marrow transplant at the age of six months.
Aisha began giving inspirational talks at differ platforms since the age of 15 and was named an INK Fellow and spoke in 2011 and 2013 INK Conferences. She also spoke in 2013 at TEDxPune. Her book was released one day before her death. Zaira Wasim will play Aisha’s role and Priyanka will play her mother, Aditi Chaudhary. Aditi was known for her part in Aisha’s life as a motivator and supporter in all her endeavours. She and her husband Niren Chaudhary (played by Farhan Akhtar) as parents were observed seizing every moment with their daughter instead of grieving her untimely death.
