Simmba starring Sara Ali Khan and Ranveer Singh has been slated to release on the silver screen on December 28. The shooting has been flagged off and the movie is directed by the well-known director, Rohit Shetty. The producers, Dharma Productions and Reliance Entertainment have made an announcement about the start of shooting via a tweet.
Ranveer Singh plays the male lead and the lead female role will be played by Sara Ali Khan, who is the daughter of Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan. Her Bollywood debut movie, Kedarnath will be released on November 30. In this Abhishek Kapoor’s creation, she will play opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. Earlier, the movie Kedarnath was under the banner of Kriraj Entertainment; however, now the reins of this project have been taken by Ronnie Screwvala.
Abhishek wanted to release Kedarnath as the debut film of Sara. But, Sara’s dates were allotted to Simmba’s team, but these dates were exclusively reserved for Kedarnath movie. This issue was even taken to the court, which however got resolved amicably with the consent of both the teams.
Simmba would be the first feature movie of Ranveer Singh with Rohit Shetty. Both of them had made a fast food TV commercial earlier. Before Simmba, Ranveer Singh was seen in Padmaavat of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which was released in January. His laudable performance in the character of Khilji was the strongest point.
Simmba is the present project of Ranveer and he will also be soon seen in Gully Boy of Zoya Akhtar and a Kabir Khan’s film based on India’s victory in Cricket World Cup 1983. In Kabir Khan’s directorial Ranveer will be in the shoes of skipper Kapil Dev.
