Kabir Khan, the filmmaker has announced a film with Ranveer Singh ‘83. It is based on the biopic of Kapil Dev. The movie is about the iconic winning of World Cup of Indian Cricket Team in 1983. Audience are excited about the movie’s development.
Reportedly, the shooting of the film will not start before mid-2018. But still, the makers have announced the release date. As said by the makers on Twitter, the film will hit the screens on 09th of April 2019. No other actor than Ranveer Singh has been cast yet for the titular role.
The actor shared an image with Kapil Dev and entire team on his Instagram account and captioned it as, “Mark your calendar! ’83 will be releasing on 30th August, 2019. ’83 stars @ranveersingh. Directed by @kabirkhankk”
Earlier, Kabir Khan had said, as a young school boy, when he watched India win the 1983 Cricket World Cup, he had no idea that from that day onwards cricket in India will change forever.
He added that as a filmmaker, for him, the journey to that victory filled with raw energy and sheer passion of that young Indian team, is probably one of the most exciting stories he has ever worked on. And it’s great to have Ranveer on board to play Kapil Dev as honestly he could see no one else in the role ever since he started finalizing the script.
A trade source informed, “The makers have to still sort a few issues with the movie. Only once that is done will they be able to start the movie.”
The movie has already faced some controversies. As told, there are still some issues in the script and still a lot of actors should be cast.
