Although Deadpool 2 was released on 15th May and is still new in the theatres with fans enjoying it, Ryan Reynolds, the star of the movie is busy working on the next project.
He has teamed up with the screenwriters of Deadpool and Deadpool 2, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. They will be writing the script for the next Netflix release. This ensures R-rated lines that they are known for penning and which Reynolds drops the best.
The production of the movie is expected to start in summer this year and Michael Bay, the celebrated director of Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, and the Transformers series fame will direct it. With Bay directing, you can always expect big-budget explosion scenes. The movie titled Six Underground is a big project that would cost around $150 million. For both Bay and Reynolds, it’s the first Netflix project.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the plot of the movie revolves around six billionaires. They fake their own deaths to form an elite team and then take down the bad guys. It is an action movie that is made exclusively for digital-streaming service on Netflix.
Last year too, Netflix released a movie named Bright, which depicted Will Smith as a Los Angeles police officer. He was paired with the country’s first orc cop played by Joel Edgerton. Though the movie was panned by critics, it was watched by millions of people via the streaming service. According to the Nielsen estimates, within the first three days of its release, nearly 11 million American viewers streamed it.
Since the release of Bright, Six Underground is going to be the biggest movie in the features market by Netflix.
