Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety Movie Review: Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha, Sunny Singh’s Film Suffers from the Curse of Second Half

Most of the Bollywood movies are based on friendship or romance. There are lots of movies alike. But, very few have become successful. Well, the recently released ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ is also based on both the genres.

Sunny Singh played the role as Titu Sharma and Kartik Aaryan played Sonu. Titu Sharma is a friend of Sonu and Sonu is overprotective of Titu. From the past two years, his girlfriend continually manipulated him and he successfully helped him to break up with her. Then, in the story, Sweety enters in the role played by Nushrat Bharucha. She is the kind of girl who is an ideal wife that Titu wants and ideal Indian Bahu. This time again, Sonu wants to save him from her. But what happens is he finds a good match.

All the three actors have done full justice to their roles and performed very well. The scene when Titu gets angered and breaks character is extremely impressive. Sweety’s confidence is again a plus point and she has an outstanding screen presence with her beautiful looks and acting. And, Sonu’s comic timings are perfect without getting overdramatic; he has performed a great job.

The Sharmas, Titu’s family is Punjabi family. Their way to celebrate, dance and loud behavior made them the perfect Punjabi family ever. As the parental figure, Alok Nath has put life into the character with his fabulous acting.

There are various other aspects that have made it insipid – the confusing title, excessive scenes to depict the strong friendship bond between Titu and Sonu, too many funny sound effects to alert the viewers to laugh at the funny joke, and it’s too long and lasts for 220 minutes. In the first half, without any doubt, there have been numerous comical scenes, but it suffers from the boredom in the second half. If you loved ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’, then it would be good to watch this movie as well. Otherwise, it’s not a much fascinating one.
