Tabu is going to play the role of the biopic based on a rescued woman from Pakistan. Alongside her, Parineeti Chopra or Taapsee Pannu might play the lead role in the untitled film.
In the times of fiction movies Judwaa 2, 2.0 and SRK’s next with Anand L. Rai making news in Bollywood, we have another film based on a true story. The director Dhiraj Kumar is all set to showcase the story of Uzma Ahmed. She was an Indian woman who married Tahir Ali at gunpoint in Pakistan. However, due to the courage showed by the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Uzma came back to India.
Sushma Swaraj fought the legal battle with the neighbouring country and ultimately brought ‘Hindustan Ki Beti’ back to India on May 25. Dhiraj has approached Tabu to play the role of Sushma Swaraj in the film whereas Parineeti Chopra is most probably going to play the lead. The director says:
“Parineeti is definitely one of the names we are considering. You need a solid performer for the part. But it’s too early to discuss the cast.”
Taapsee Pannu is another contender to play the lead in the movie. Also, as per certain reports, the veteran actor Anil Kapoor might play Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh in the movie who also helped Uzma in coming back to India.
