Amitabh Bachchan who previously appeared in ‘Pink’ has already signed his next film with the ‘Sairat’ director Nagraj Manjule. The film is going to be titled as ‘Jhund’ and its shooting will begin in October later this year.
Nagraj Manjule has previously worked in the Marathi film industry. He was the director of the biggest hit in the history of Marathi industry. Sairat became a runaway success after gaining a lot of attention right from its release date. The movie went onto become the highest grossing Marathi film as well. It will be quite interesting to see the Marathi film director step in the leagues of Bollywood and direct the ‘Shahenshah of Bollywood’ this time.
Also, Nagraj is one of the biggest fans of Amitabh Bachchan. The director actually said that he has admired Amitabh since his Deewaar days. This was one of the reasons why he decided to make a film with Amitabh Bachchan as the lead hero.
The movie is going to be based on the life of Vijay Barse who is a retired school teacher from Pune. He used to train underprivileged children in football to enhance their fitness levels and develop their skills such as team-building and self-esteem. Jhund is going to mark as the debut directorial movie of Nagraj Manjule in Bollywood. The release date of the film is still unknown.
